About the Napoleon Civic Center Project.

In January 2016, the Napoleon Area School District opened their new elementary school. This has resulted in the closure and schedule for demolition of three elementary schools, a junior high school and a 700 seat auditorium. The process of creating the Napoleon Civic Center foundation was started in 2012, out of a grassroots desire to save the auditorium and part of the elementary from the wrecking ball and create a civic center for use by the residents of Napoleon and greater Henry County, Ohio. The Napoleon Civic Center Foundation received confirmation of their 501 (c) (3) tax exemption status on December 5, 2013. The Civic Center will be the home to an arts partnership of five not for profit arts organizations including the Henry County Arts Council, Maumee Valley Civic Theater and Children’s Theater, Napoleon Community Band, Henry County Chorale, and the Henry County Historical Society. The foundation will be marketing the use of two gymnasiums, a 700 seat auditorium with a full stage plus apron and dressing room capacity. In addition, there will be space for a wellness organization and the capability to turn one gymnasium into a banquet hall with a catering room near it.
